A resting heart rate is also used to calculate an athlete's training target heart rate. These athletes use their resting heart rate counts to determine if they are over training. Physically fit athletes have lower resting heart rates. Also a person who is in good aerobic condition has a lower resting heart rate.
Measuring heart rate:
Normal resting heart rate can be measured by keeping an index and middle finger on one side of the neck and pressing gently to get the count of heart beats. Or else it can also be measured by using any heart rate monitors that vary in brands and models. Although sometimes no symptoms can occur to cause changes in heart rate, it is better to know your resting heart rate. Any changes in this heart rate can help you treat the cause and avoid future complications of the heart.
